Hi I’m Samantha, a UKZN South African (SA) physiotherapy graduate that has been in practice for over 12 years. I have had experience in both public and private hospitals, clinics and rehabilitation institutes in both SA and the UAE and now find myself treating all types of patient ailments from painful debilitating conditions like sprains, strains, tendinopathies, other orthopaedic or sport-related injuries to chest, cardiac and neurological conditions. I currently practice holding a USA accredited Mastery Certification in Manual Therapy (MCMT) certification in Ballito, SA where I live with my husband Alaister, kids Miykael and Abigael and our newest bundle Mila Rose my cuddliest fur-baby.

Life for me is about being as functionally able to meet the demands of society, in a body that serves us well, so one can enjoy the precious moments with family and friends. For my athletic sports men or women, it’s about attaining their peak performance and pushing through goal after goal in order to stay at their top form for the longest time; to the 80 year old granny who lives by herself, maintaining her ability to drive to the shop to get food and supplies so she can continue to take care of herself. Most times our pain and suffering can be avoided or treated in the shortest time. This is my goal in treating my patients. I believe that knowledge gained in shared information can propel one to live their best life purely because they can understand the most fascinating of all creation, the human body. In my clinic, we have successfully managed to prevent and avoid surgery, and treat anything from 30 year history complaints to recent ailments like headaches, jaw pain, spinal disc injuries, sinus congestions, joint pains, whiplash, sciatica, etc. I see rehabilitation as a journey through the seasons of life where one should value maintenance during the good times and introspection and attention during the bad painful times. Both require perseverance and I hope you would experience more “good times’ in your life as you learn and sojourn with me in the videos presented.

Education

Samantha is a merit distinction UKZN graduate that has been in physiotherapy practice for over 12 years with exposure to both public, private hospitals and clinics in South Africa and the UAE (in Dubai's leading technologically-advanced hospital and its 4 associated clinics). She is accredited with a Mastery Certification in Manual Therapy (MCMT)

Experience

Samantha has treated all types of patient ailments from painful debilitating conditions like sprains, strains, tendinopathies and other orthopaedic or sport-related injuries to chest, cardiac and neurological conditions.

Professional Achievements

She has achieved successful outcomes in post-surgical and conservative physio management at times avoiding the need for surgical intervention. Her special interests relate to musculo-skeletal conditions particularly the neck and shoulder (which cause headaches, TMJ pain, sinus congestion, tinnitus and whiplash) notwithstanding sciatica, spinal/disc degenerative, and joint-replacement related pain.

She has helped patients overcome loss of function in the acute stages of injury taking them along a rehabilitative journey of success until they have achieved optimal function. Her methods of treatment involve treating the person as a whole (bio-psycho-social approach) and always strives to diagnose and treat the root cause of most symptoms or complaints. This method prevents further degeneration and future pain which has left many of her patients bringing along their friends and family to achieve similar results. Her practice has grown in leaps and bounds and her patient base extends throughout South Africa with treatments virtually or in-person, when possible. She considers herself a family sports physio as her patients range from kids, parents, grandparents right up to elite sports men & women.
